Head of Eros from Pergamon
This beautiful Eros has a central parting
leading to a knot at the back of the head.
The celebrated son of Ares and Aphrodite
and god of love is consistently represented
as a child with this typical hair style.
The original head was found in Pergamon,
and is exhibited at the Istanbul-Museum
and dated to the 1st cent. C.E.
